A one-day workshop for middle and high school teachers that will help them address issues necessary to help students make sound financial decisions will be offered from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. July 8 in the Business Conference Center at McNeese State University.
The workshop, "Cultivating Understanding: Personal Finance for the Secondary Classroom,” is sponsored by the Ann Rosteet Hurley Center for Economic Education at McNeese, the Louisiana Council for Economic Education and the Federal Reserve Banks of Atlanta and Dallas.
Topics will include considerations in making a sound financial plan, understanding banks and their services, the role of incentives, the importance of understanding credit and ultimately controlling debt and the impact of changing prices on savers and borrowers. Participants will receive six professional development credit hours.
