Sasol North America makes donation to McNeese Field House

Cops and Jocks donation to McNeese

Cops and Jocks presented a $45,000 donation from its recent auction and golf tournament held at L'Auberge du Lac Casino Resort to McNeese State University for the football program and two endowed scholarships through the McNeese Foundation. Two new $15,000 endowed scholarships have been established – the Don Dixon and Alan Heisser Law Enforcement Scholarship #3 and the Don Dixon and Alan Heisser Athletic Scholarship #2. The remaining $15,000 went to the McNeese football program.

Cal-Cam Retired Teachers Association endows McNeese scholarship

The Calcasieu-Cameron Retired Teachers Association has donated $10,000 to the McNeese Foundation toendow the H.A. and Gladys Norton Scholarship. Henry Allen Norton worked 47 years in theCalcasieu Parish School System. He began his career as assistant principal at Vinton High School in 1920 then became principal two years later. In 1928 he became Calcasieu Parish Assistant Superintendent and then superintendent in 1929. He served as superintendent until his retirement in 1967.

Sasol North America has recently donated $15,000 to McNeese State University through the McNeese Foundation. Sasol is donating $15,000 to be divided among the college of engineering and engineering technology and the departments of chemistry and agricultural sciences. Sheriff Bolivar Bishop Memorial Scholarship Established at McNeese

The Sheriff Bolivar Bishop Memorial Scholarship in Criminal Justice has been established with gifts totaling $15,054.18 to McNeese State University by the Bishop family and friends in memory of the late Sheriff Bishop through the McNeese Foundation. Bishop was elected Beauregard Parish Sheriff in 1971 and he retired in 2008 as the longest serving sheriff in Louisiana.

ConocoPhillips Makes Donation to McNeese

ConocoPhillips has donated $10,000 for the process plant technology program in the college of engineering and engineering technology at McNeese State University through the McNeese Foundation. ConocoPhillips has given a total of $50,000 to the process plant technology program since 2006.

Greater Lake Charles Rotary Club makes donation to McNeese
The Greater Lake Charles Rotary Club recently donated $10,000 from the proceeds of its annual auction to McNeese State University for the Greater Lake Charles Rotary Scholarship Fund, which was established with the McNeese Foundation in 1992. To date, this event has raised almost $415,000 for the endowed scholarship fund.

Greater Lake Charles Rotary Club makes donation to McNeese football camp

The Greater Lake Charles Rotary Club recently made a $21,000 donation to the McNeese State Cowboy football camp.
Cowboy head coach Matt Viator received the donation from Jesse James and Dr. James R. Churchman, members of the club. This is the 10th year for the organization to make a donation to the football camp.
The camp is opened to all athletes 10 years of age through upcoming high school seniors and is divided into junior (up to the ninth grade) and a senior (ninth through the 12th grade) divisions. Viator and his coaching staff served as instructors at the camp.
Joe and Lydia Cash establish McNeese endowed lecture series

The Joe and Lydia Cash Endowed Lecture in Literature and Culture series has been established with a $10,000 gift to McNeese State University through the McNeese Foundation by Dr. Joe Cash, former chair of the McNeese English and Foreign Languages Department for 23 years, and his wife, Lydia, a retired Calcasieu Parish teacher.
Joe is retiring from McNeese at the end of the 2010 summer session after teaching English in Texas and Louisiana for 48 years. He and Lydia decided to establish the endowment to fund an annual lecture series in literature, according to Dr. Jacob Blevins, current chair of the department.
"Because our departmental mission represents so many literatures and cultures, the lecture series will be comparative in nature and consider the importance of literature worldwide,” said Blevins. Plans are to kick off the lecture series this fall.

Citgo donates to the McNeese Foundation

Citgo Petroleum Corp. has presented a $35,000 donation to the McNeese State University Foundation for the endowed Citgo Petroleum Corporation Professorship in Engineering #6.

Grace Davison has donated $6,000 to McNeese State University through the McNeese Foundation to be divided between the McNeese colleges of business and engineering and engineering technology.

City Savings Bank presented $15,000 to McNeese State University as part of its $75,000 pledge for the City Savings Bank & Trust Scholarship through the McNeese Foundation.

Chandra Engineering Scholarship Established at McNeese

Dr. Pankaj Chandra, professor of mechanical engineering at McNeese State University, and his wife, Meera Raj, a 1999 McNeese chemical engineering graduate, have established a new scholarship, the Chandra "Peace” Memorial Engineering Scholarship, in memory of Chandra’s father, Shanti Chandra, with a $10,000 pledge to the McNeese Foundation. "Shanti” means peace.

Women's Commission of SWLA established scholarship at McNeese

The Women’s Commission of SWLA Inc. has donated $15,000 to the McNeese State University Foundation to establish the Women’s Commission of SWLA Inc. Endowed Scholarship. McNeese receives Ad & Press Club Donation

The Advertising and Press Club of SWLA has donated $6,000 to the McNeese State University Scholarship Fund and to the Mass Communication Department through the McNeese Foundation. The donation represents McNeese’s portion of the net profits from the club’s 2009 Gridiron show, which is used for scholarships and institutional support.
Each year, the club donates part of its Gridiron proceeds to the university, and this year, $5,000 goes toward the scholarship fund and $1,000 goes to the mass communication department.

The Eye Clinic establishes scholarship at McNeese

The Eye Clinic has donated $10,000 to establish the Dr. D. Dale and Valerie Archer Nursing Scholarship through the McNeese State University Foundation. The scholarship was established in honor of the 50th anniversary of The Eye Clinic, which was founded by Dr. Archer.
