8/30/2010 Dr. Robert Hebert named President-Emeritus
 The Board of Supervisors for the University of Louisiana System named Robert Hebert President-Emeritus of McNeese State University. Hebert retired in June after serving 41 years at McNeese and 23 of them as president, making him the university's longest-serving president.

3/6/2012 McNeese Center for the Advancement of Meat Production & Processing Grand Opening
 

McNeese State University officially opened the Center for Advancement of Meat Production and Processing (CAMPP) Monday, March 5. Located in Lacassine, this 7,350-square-foot facility will be a satellite campus under the administration of the Harold and Pearl Dripps Agricultural Sciences Department at McNeese.

Technical Community College faculty and staff will be able to advance their own education through reduced tuition at McNeese State University.Sowela and McNeese have signed a memorandum of understanding to provide faculty and staff of Sowela with reduced tuition when enrolling in McNeese courses.

McNeese State University is the highest ranked Louisiana regional public university in the South in two categories according to the 2013 Best Colleges edition of U.S. News & World Report that was released Wednesday. There are 625 institutions nationwide in the regional category.

10/2/2012 Magazine Ranks McNeese MFA Program No. 24 in Nation
 

Poets & Writers magazine has again named McNeese State University's Master of Fine Arts program in creative writing as one of the top 50 MFA programs in the United States in its 2012 September/October issue.

11/19/2012Dr. Kalil Ieyoub Named McNeese Professor Emeritus
 

Dr. Kalil P. Ieyoub, retired chemistry professor, chemistry department head, dean of the college of science and vice president for administration and student affairs at McNeese State University, was recently honored by the university with Professor Emeritus status.
