Spring Fling 2018 hits the McNeese State University campus for students April 15-19 with several events planned throughout the week. This year’s Spring Fling will include a bowling night, bubble soccer, a variety show, community service and Rowdy’s Barbershop.

The Malpass Brothers, a duo that plays music inspired by classic country artists, will perform at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 26, in McNeese State University’s F.G. Bulber Auditorium as part of the 2018 Banners at McNeese season.

10/20/2017Couple Donate Instrument to McNeese
 Catherine and David Robbins, of New Orleans, have donated a bass flute valued at over $8,000 to the McNeese State University W.A. and Dorothy Hanna Department of Performing Arts through the McNeese Foundation.
3/19/2018 Dr. Mitchell Adrian Selected McNeese Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and Enrollment Management
 Dr. Mitchell Adrian has been selected to serve as provost and vice president for academic affairs and enrollment management at McNeese State University. Adrian has been serving in the interim role since August 2017. His appointment is pending approval by the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors.

McNeese State University Leisure Learning is offering "A STEAM Adventure” summer program as part of its Kids College from May 28-Aug. 10 for children entering grades 1­-8.

McNeese State University students, Thaddeus Richard, a psychology senior from Eunice, and Rachel Zachary, a political science senior from Sulphur, have been selected as Mr. and Miss McNeese on the 2018 Spring Court.

 Heather Ryan Kelley, a McNeese art professor, has had a print titled "Tabula Rasa” included as a part of two national juried exhibitions - The Boston Printmakers North American Print Biennial at the Lunder Arts Center at Lesley University College of Arts and Design in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and the 2018 Delta National Exhibition at the Bradbury Art Museum at Arkansas State University. She printed the etching in conjunction with the McNeese Department of Visual Arts Printmaking Extravaganza last spring.

  The 2018 Banners at McNeese State University season concludes with a free public screening of the documentary, "The Eagle Huntress,” at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 28, in Stokes Auditorium in McNeese’s Hardtner Hall.

Winner of 10 Grammys, an Emmy and protégé of the legendary jazz master Dizzy Gillespie, Arturo Sandoval will lead the Arturo Sandoval Sextet in a performance at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 22, in the Benjamin W. Mount Theatre in Central School’s Arts and Humanities Center of Lake Charles as part of the 2018 Banners at McNeese State University season.

A free public screening of the 2017 documentary film, "Hell on Earth: The Fall of Syria and the Rise of ISIS,” will be presented at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 14, in the Stokes Auditorium in McNeese State University’s Hardtner Hall as part of the 2018 Banners at McNeese season.

4/21/2018 McNeese Banners Schedules Classic Disney Film Mary Poppins
 

A free public screening of the 1964 classic Walt Disney movie, "Mary Poppins,” will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 21, in Stokes Auditorium of McNeese State University’s Hardtner Hall as part of the 2018 Banners at McNeese season.

4/17/2018 McNeese Banners to Present Monster Fish Host Zeb Hogan
 

Zeb Hogan, freshwater ecologist and host of National Geographic’s "Monster Fish” television show, will speak at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, in the Parra Ballroom in McNeese State University’s Holbrook Student Union Annex as part of the 2018 Banners at McNeese season. This event is open free to the public.

3/20/2018 McNeese Dietetics Program and Internship Accreditation Continues
 

The Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics announced that accreditation for McNeese State University’s Didactic Program in Dietetics and its Dietetic Internship has been extended through June 2019. Both programs are offered through the Harold and Pearl Dripps School of Agricultural Sciences.

4/24/2018 McNeese Greek Life Donates to Louisiana Lions Camp
  McNeese State University’s Greek Life has donated $9,200 to the Louisiana Lions Camp near Leesville. During Greek Week on campus, the 14 Greek fraternities and sororities battled it out during a weeklong competition of Change Wars to raise money for the camp. On hand for the presentation are from left: Koven Love, National Pan-Hellenic Council representative, Austin Pottorff, Interfraternity Council representative, Raymond Cecil, executive director of the Louisiana Lions Camp, Kristian Ojonta, NPHC representative, and Hailey Goodwin, National Panhellenic Conference representative.
4/17/2018 McNeese Hosts Government Contracting Workshop for Small Businesses
 A free workshop on government contracting will be offered from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 17, on the second floor of the McNeese State University SEED Center. The workshop is sponsored by the Louisiana Small Business Development Center at McNeese, Sasol and the Southwest Louisiana Economic Development Alliance.
4/16/2018 McNeese Hosts Internationally Known Flutist in Recital
 The McNeese State University W.A. and Dorothy Hanna Department of Performing Arts will present British flutist and composer Ian Clarke in a free concert at 7 p.m. Monday, April 16, in Tritico Theatre. Clarke will be accompanied by McNeese faculty members Lina Morita on piano and Judy Hand on flute.

 Twenty-eight students have been selected for the McNeese State University Honors College for the 2018-2019 academic year, according to Dr. Scott Goins, honors college director.
1/11/2018 McNeese Offers Prometric Testing on Campus
 

A Prometric Testing Center is now available in Southwest Louisiana through the Office of Testing Services at McNeese State University. The center - located in Suite 210C in the Burton Business Center – is open from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday by appointment.

 McNeese State University student Haden Cooley, left, has been named as the 2018 Janet Delaine Student Employee of the Year at McNeese, while Bethany Lejeune was a finalist for this award. These students were recognized during the 10th annual McNeese Student Employee Appreciation Day program.

  The McNeese State University W.A. and Dorothy Hanna Department of Performing Arts will present a free senior recital featuring Diana Huerta on trumpet and Tyler Young on Tuba at 7 p.m. April 30 in Tritico Theatre. Both will be assisted on piano by Lina Morita.

The McNeese State University W.A. and Dorothy Hanna Department of Performing Arts will present the McNeese Concert Chorale, Chamber Singers and the Men’s and Women’s Ensembles in a free spring concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 26, in Tritico Theatre. The concert is under the direction of Darryl Jones, director of choral activities.

  Involve U is a new smartphone app, developed by McNeese State University students, that acts as a social media site specifically for campus events of student organizations at a single college campus. Team members behind Involve U are, from left, Taylor Venissat, Aaron Meyers and Garrett Benoit.
3/2/2018 McNeese's Accreditation Reaffirmed by SACSCOC
 

The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) announced that accreditation for McNeese State University is reaffirmed for an additional 10 years following a comprehensive review of McNeese’s academic and administrative programs.

2/6/2018 The Pride of McNeese Marching Band Selected for Honor
 

McNeese State University’s Pride of McNeese Marching Band is one of six university marching bands selected for video performance at the 2018 College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA) Southern Division Conference Feb. 22-24 at the University of South Florida in Tampa.

2/9/2018 Westlake Chemical Presents Donation for Student Study Center to McNeese College of Engineering and Computer Science
 

The McNeese State University College of Engineering and Computer Science has received a donation of $185,000 from Westlake Chemical to establish a study center for its students.
