The McNeese State University campus offers numerous summer activities for area youth of all ages. McNeese Leisure Learning holds numerous classes through its Kids College Program for children of all ages.

The 2017 Governor’s Program for Gifted Children at McNeese State University will present two theatre productions and a chorus and large ensemble concert as a finale to its summer program Wednesday-Saturday, July 19-22.

McNeese State University’s radio station - KBYS 88.3 FM – is offering a new women’s history program titled "Your Grandma Rocks!” every Saturday at 6:30 a.m.

7/17/2017 Kicker Kutie Dance Camp at McNeese
 

The annual Kicker Kutie Summer Dance Camp will be held July 17-21 at McNeese State University. The camp will be held from 9 a.m.­-4 p.m. in the McNeese Recreational Complex.

The Southwest Louisiana community is invited to a benefit for McNeese State University’s Pride of McNeese Marching Band Aug. 5 at the Crying Eagle Brewery in Lake Charles with proceeds going to the band’s "Marching McNeese to London” fundraising campaign.

March is Problem Gambling Awareness Month and this year’s theme is "Have the Conversation.” Since 2003, the McNeese State University Gambling Treatment Program has reached out to educate the general public about the warning signs of problem gambling and to raise awareness about help availablelocally through radio, TV and billboards.

6/2/2017 McNeese Nursing BSN Program Receives Continuing Accreditation
 

The McNeese State University College of Nursing and Health Professions’ baccalaureate nursing degree program has been granted continuing accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) following an extensive review process that culminated with a campus site visit last fall by CCNE evaluators, according to Dr. Peggy Wolfe, dean of the college.

Over 20 awards were handed out to both individual students as well as to various sororities and fraternities during the 2017 Greek Awards Banquet at McNeese State University. McNeese has 15 Greek fraternities and sororities on campus.

1/3/2017 McNeese President to Retire
 

McNeese State University President Dr. Philip Williams announced that he will retire on June 30, 2017. Williams has served as president since July 1, 2010.

McNeese State University Associate Professor of Music Bill Rose heads to the mountains of Switzerland this month to compete and perform in a most unlikely event: the International Alphorn Festival held July 21-23 in the small alpine village of Nendaz.

McNeese State University captured the National Men’s All-Around Championship Saturday night at the 69th College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyoming.

5/24/2017 McNeese Spring Graduate Also Receives High School Diploma
 

McNeese State University’s spring commencement was held May 13, and one student, Joseph McKinney, 17, graduated with an associate degree in general studies with a 4.0. Incredibly, 11 days later (May 24), he receiveed his diploma as an honor graduate from Westlake High School.

7/14/2017 McNeese Student Team to do NASA Research During Total Solar Eclipse in August
 

On Monday, Aug. 21, skies across the country will darken with the first total solar eclipse viewable over the United States since 1979. A team of students from McNeese State University’s College of Engineering and Computer Science are headed to Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Ill., on that date to take part in a NASA-sponsored, real-time scientific study of solar eclipses.
