McNeese Theatre Finale - Wednesday, March 20, 2019

The McNeese State University W.A. and Dorothy Hanna Department of Performing Arts will present the spring theatrical production, "The Autism/Asperger’s Project,” March 20-24 at Tritico Theatre. Times are 7:30 p.m. March 20-23 and 2 p.m. March 24.

The season’s finale continues McNeese Theatre’s effort to bring a special understanding to something that is misunderstood. Last year the subject was adolescence and the teenage years and this year’s endeavor is autism and Asperger’s syndrome.

"The Autism/Asperger’s Project” is a special show dedicated towards bringing attention and awareness of Autism Spectrum Disorders to audiences, according to Charles McNeely, McNeese theatre director. "

"Created thanks to the contributions of community members from across Southwest Louisiana, the play is based on contributor’s thoughts and insights on the misunderstood world of autism and Asperger’s syndrome,” he said.

Directed by McNeely, the show will star Peyton Stanford as "Chris,” Aaron Tanner as "Bob,” Hannah Jolivette as "Judy,” Himshree Neupane as "Patty,” Cecile Roques as "Penny” and Supratik Regmi as "Harry.” Crew members include Michelle Brunson as technical, set and light designer, Bridget Delaney, Colette Tanner and Sean Hinchee as assistants to the director, Adrianne Zembower as consultant, Briana Delaney as prop master and Gordon Boone as stage crew.

Contributors to the play include C. Tanner, McNeely, Bridget Delaney, Jeff Wainwright, A. Tanner, Marcus Tanner, Briana Delaney, Katy Cole, Angela Roques, C. Roques, Todd Furman, Zembower, Mylinda Elliot, Shari Cooley, Janice Huber, Maggie LeBeouf, Brant Boone, Cathy Guillory Miller, Randy Miller, Allen Granger, Stanford, Jolivette, Neupane, Regmi, Jennifer Tolbert and Autism Services of SW Louisiana.

Ticket prices are $15 for adults, $10 for McNeese faculty/staff, senior citizens,

K-12 students and teachers and free for McNeese students with a current ID.
