Fundraiser Event Raises Funds for Forrest History Scholarship at McNeese

A fundraiser for the Dr. Robert Forrest History Scholarship at McNeese State University recently raised over $12,000 for the endowed scholarship. The event – hosted by Lake Charles Mayor Nic Hunter at the Harlequin Restaurant – included a silent auction, brunch and a historical trivia competition.
To date over $86,000 has been given to the scholarship, which is designated for history and liberal arts majors. On hand for the presentation are, from left, Nathaniel “Nate” Willett, a Vinton history major and current recipient of the Dr. Robert Forrest History Scholarship, David Stine, McNeese Foundation Board of Directors member, and Mayor Nic Hunter.
