The McNeese Foundation is a great place for your year-end donations! The holiday season is busy, but there is still time to make tax-deductible donations.
Online donations are the fastest and easiest way to give, and must be made by midnight on Dec. 31, for the 2023 tax deduction. Visit the Foundation website at, www.mcneesefoundation.org and click on yellow GIVE NOW button.
Donations made by check, must be postmarked by the United States Postal Service by Dec. 31, 2023. Please mail checks to: McNeese Foundation, Box 91989, Lake Charles, LA 70609.
Other ways to support the McNeese Foundation include donations of stock and Individual Retirement Account (IRA) distributions. For stock donations, please email Foundation staff members Laura Bowers at lbowers@mcneese.edu or Jennifer Leger at jleger1@mcneese.edu for donation instructions.
Individuals 70.5-years-old and older can give any amount (up to a maximum of $100,000) per year from their IRA directly to the McNeese Foundation without having to pay income taxes on the money. Beginning in the year an individual turns 73, they can give directly from their IRA to satisfy all or part of the required minimum distribution.
All IRA contributions must be sent directly to the McNeese Foundation from the account provider. More information on IRA giving can be found at https://mcneesefoundation.planningyourlegacy.org/give-from-your-ira.
