McNeese Offers Assistance for Completing the New FAFSA

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now available for the 2024-2025 academic year. McNeese State University is hosting several opportunities for current and incoming students to help students complete the FAFSA.

McNeese students, and high school students planning to attend McNeese, can schedule an appointment in Student Central on Thursdays during January and February for FAFSA assistance. Register for an appointment at www.mcneese.edu/student-central/fafsa-thursdays-registration

The McNeese Financial Aid Office will host FAFSA Frenzy on Wednesday, Feb. 7, on campus in the Frazar Memorial Library from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. No appointment is needed. McNeese students can stop by and renew their FAFSA.

Students who have never completed the FAFSA need to set up a Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID before any FAFSA meeting by going to www.studentaid.gov and clicking on Create an Account.

Students attending the FAFSA Frenzy or FAFSA appointment in Student Central need to bring their FSA ID, social security number and 2022 tax information. Students who are dependents need to bring their parent/contributor’s information as well.

The FAFSA is important for current McNeese students who are receiving TOPS, grants or student loans. To avoid delays in receiving your financial aid for the 2024-2025, complete the FAFSA as soon as possible.
