The McNeese student chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management has raised $10,000 over the past three years – instead of an initial 10-year pledge – to endow the McNeese SHRM Student Chapter Scholarship for Human Resources through the McNeese Foundation. Fundraisers have included collaborating with the History Channel’s Swamp People to sell raffle tickets for autographs and paraphernalia, selling Popeye’s red beans and rice dinners and hosting its annual SHRM Leadership Conference that is sponsored by Lake Area businesses. The SHRM student chapter has been recognized as one of the top 10 Outstanding Student Chapters in the nation for two consecutive years. On hand for the presentation are from left: Dr. Susie Cox, faculty adviser; Jessica High, past president; Ashley Freeman, past fundraising chair; Patrick Hardey, president; and Jared Langlois, past president.
