 Students who have registered online for McNeese State University’s 2018 fall classes have until 4:30 p.m. Aug. 15 to pay fees. Fall classes begin Aug. 20.

Dr. Ann Warner, professor and co-coordinator of the graduate nursing program at McNeese State University, is one of 49 nursing faculty from 25 states to be selected for the 2018 Leadership for Academic Nursing Program sponsored by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing.

7/9/2018 McNeese Names Interim College of Business Dean

Dr. Cynthia Rodriguez Cano, assistant professor of marketing at McNeese State University, has been named interim dean of the College of Business, according to Dr. Mitchell Adrian, provost and vice president for academic affairs and enrollment management at McNeese. Her appointment is effective Aug. 1. Cano replaces Dr. Lonnie Phelps, who has been serving as interim dean since August 2017.

6/28/2018 McNeese Education Programs Earn Reaccreditation
 All teacher education programs in the McNeese State University Burton College of Education have earned reaccreditation for another seven years from the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), the sole nationally recognized accrediting body for education preparation.
6/28/2018 Ogea Named Interim Burton College of Education Dean

Dr. Angelique M. Ogea, associate professor of education professions, has been named interim dean of the Burton College of Education at McNeese State University, according to Dr. Mitchell Adrian, provost and vice president for academic affairs and enrollment management at McNeese. Her appointment is effective July 1 following the announcement of the retirement of Dr. Wayne Fetter.

6/25/2018 McNeese Names Dean of College of Liberal Arts

Dr. Michael Buckles has been named dean of the College of Liberal Arts at McNeese State University. The appointment was approved at Thursday’s (June 21) meeting of the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors.

McNeese State University captured three national individual championships, one team championship and one reserve championship Saturday night at the 70th College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyo.

McNeese State University graduate Jenn Alandy Trahan has been awarded the prestigious Jones Lectureship in Fiction at Stanford University. As a Jones Lecturer, Trahan will teach courses in creative writing while working to complete her first book.

McNeese State University engineering junior Anthony Miller, of Sulphur, is one of 13 undergraduates from Louisiana institutions to receive a NASA-funded summer internship focused on what happens inside thunderstorm cells at high altitudes.

McNeese State University engineering and computer science majors participated in the Louisiana Aerospace Catalysts Experiences for Students balloon project held at NASA’s Columbia Scientific Balloon Center in Palestine, Texas.

 The 11th Annual Cowboy Camp at McNeese State University will be held Friday and Saturday, Aug. 17-18, to give the incoming freshman class and transfer students the opportunity to learn about the traditions and history of McNeese before the fall semester begins.

 McNeese State University senior art majors Shelby Roberie and Madison Augustine were selected to attend workshops at the internationally recognized Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in the Gatlinburg, Tennessee, this summer.
5/25/2018 McNeese Student Receives Prestigious Medical Research Internship
 McNeese State University biological science major Robert Rutz has been selected for a 10-week summer internship with the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland, that will provide him with valuable hands-on experience in the medical or research field. 5/12/2018 The Late Billy Navarre Receives Posthumous Honorary Doctorate at McNeese Spring Commencement

McNeese State University conferred a posthumous honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree on Billy Navarre, a prominent Lake Charles business owner, philanthropist, outstanding civic leader, community volunteer and a supporter of McNeese, during the 150th commencement ceremony Saturday, May 12, at Burton Coliseum.

 Joseph Provenzano, a double major in accounting and finance, received the 2018 Jeff and Rhonda Lee Miller Distinguished Senior in the College of Business Award at the recent Beta Gamma Sigma induction and awards ceremony at McNeese State University.

5/7/2018 McNeese ABA Graduate Program One of Only 20 Nationally Accredited

McNeese State University’s psychology graduate program in applied behavior analysis is the only one in Louisiana accredited by the Association for Behavior Analysis International and one of only 20 accredited programs in the nation, according to Dr. Cameron Melville, coordinator of the psychology graduate program at McNeese.

When McNeese State University graduate Lindsey Johnson moved to Florence, Italy, two years ago to work on a Master of Fine Arts from the Studio Arts College International (SACI), she expected that her days would be spent sipping cappuccinos, riding Vespas (Italian mopeds) with beautiful Italian men and drinking fine wine while leisurely painting the Tuscan countryside.

Six McNeese State University visual arts students are being recognized for their hard work and support as interns at the Imperial Calcasieu Museum with an exhibit, "Budding Talents,” from May 3 – June 8 in the Gibson-Barham Gallery.

Twenty-eight students have been selected for the McNeese State University Honors College for the 2018-2019 academic year, according to Dr. Scott Goins, honors college director.

3/20/2018 McNeese Dietetics Program and Internship Accreditation Continues

The Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics announced that accreditation for McNeese State University’s Didactic Program in Dietetics and its Dietetic Internship has been extended through June 2019. Both programs are offered through the Harold and Pearl Dripps School of Agricultural Sciences.

3/2/2018 McNeese's Accreditation Reaffirmed by SACSCOC

The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) announced that accreditation for McNeese State University is reaffirmed for an additional 10 years following a comprehensive review of McNeese’s academic and administrative programs.

2/9/2018 Westlake Chemical Presents Donation for Student Study Center to McNeese College of Engineering and Computer Science

The McNeese State University College of Engineering and Computer Science has received a donation of $185,000 from Westlake Chemical to establish a study center for its students.

2/6/2018 The Pride of McNeese Marching Band Selected for Honor

McNeese State University’s Pride of McNeese Marching Band is one of six university marching bands selected for video performance at the 2018 College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA) Southern Division Conference Feb. 22-24 at the University of South Florida in Tampa.
