2/26/2018 McNeese SAGE Lecture on Louisiana Haunted Plantation Homes

Dr. Cheryl White, associate professor of history at Louisiana State University at Shreveport, will present a lecture on the history of haunted Louisiana plantations at 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, in the McNeese State University SEED Center as part of the 2018 Spring Sage Series.

2/24/2018 McNeese 2018 Spring Preview Day Set

The McNeese State University Admissions and Recruiting Office will sponsor a free Spring Preview Day for high school, transfer and graduate students, parents and guests from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24.

2/23/2018 McNeese Visual Arts to Sponsor Gumbowl Fundraiser
  The McNeese State University Department of Visual Arts is sponsoring a gumbo fundraiser from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, in the Shearman Fine Arts Annex Atrium.
2/22/2018 McNeese Hosts Small Business Workshop
 A workshop titled "Online Marketing for Small Businesses” will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, at the McNeese State University SEED Center. This event is sponsored by the Louisiana Small Business Development Center at McNeese.
2/21/2018 McNeese Schedules Guest Clarinet Recital

The McNeese State University W.A. and Dorothy Hanna Department of Performing Arts will present a free clarinet recital by Dr. Jennifer Iles at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, in Tritico Theatre. The program is part of the spring Faculty/Guest Recital Series hosted by the department.

2/9/2018 Westlake Chemical Presents Donation for Student Study Center to McNeese College of Engineering and Computer Science

The McNeese State University College of Engineering and Computer Science has received a donation of $185,000 from Westlake Chemical to establish a study center for its students.

The 26th season of Banners at McNeese State University kicks off in March and this year’s entertainment includes everything from crowd-pleasing musical ensembles and breathtaking dance shows to captivating speakers and film screenings, according to Brook Hanemann, Banners director.

2/6/2018 The Pride of McNeese Marching Band Selected for Honor

McNeese State University’s Pride of McNeese Marching Band is one of six university marching bands selected for video performance at the 2018 College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA) Southern Division Conference Feb. 22-24 at the University of South Florida in Tampa.

1/30/2018 McNeese Presents The Secret Garden

McNeese State University’s Department of Performing Arts will present a musical production of "The Secret Garden” Feb. 7-11 at Tritico Theatre. Times are 7:30 p.m. Feb. 7-10 and 2 p.m. Feb. 11.

1/26/2018 McNeese Names New Banners Director

Brook Hanemann has been named the director of Banners at McNeese State University. This annual spring event that is known for its series of concerts, exhibits, lectures and educational programming that has provided Southwest Louisiana with 26 years of easy access to exceptional arts and humanities events unique to this area.

1/11/2018 McNeese Offers Prometric Testing on Campus

A Prometric Testing Center is now available in Southwest Louisiana through the Office of Testing Services at McNeese State University. The center - located in Suite 210C in the Burton Business Center – is open from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday by appointment.

A team of students from McNeese State University’s College of Engineering and Computer Science took first place in the recent poster competition at the Annual High Altitude Conference at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities.

 As family members watched Saturday morning, Lola Grichendler, of Lake Charles, was awarded the first health systems management degree by McNeese State University’s College of Nursing and Health Professions at the 149th commencement ceremony held in Burton Coliseum.
12/5/2017 McNeese BRIDGES Program Now Offered Year Round

The McNeese State University Autism Program will now offer its BRIDGES program year round. Enrollment is open for ages 13 and up for those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum.

11/10/2017McNeese Partners With Calcasieu Parish School Board and CITGO to Bring STEM Education Program to Elementary Students

McNeese State University has partnered with the Calcasieu Parish School System and CITGO to bring STEM education to over 900 elementary students in 23 participating elementary schools through a national program called Engineering is Elementary.

McNeese State University is celebrating the careers and accomplishments of three former rodeo members—James Boudreaux, Holly Foster Berry and Dickie McBride—by inducting them into the 2017 McNeese Rodeo Hall of Fame.

 Catherine and David Robbins, of New Orleans, have donated a bass flute valued at over $8,000 to the McNeese State University W.A. and Dorothy Hanna Department of Performing Arts through the McNeese Foundation.
9/29/2017 2017 Pinnacle Excellence Awards Announced at McNeese

Six McNeese State University faculty members are recipients of the 2017 Pinnacle Excellence Awards established by Pinnacle Entertainment Inc. – the parent company of L’Auberge Casino Resort Lake Charles - to recognize outstanding faculty achievement in each of the McNeese colleges - business, education, engineering and computer science, liberal arts, nursing and health professions and science and agriculture.

For the seventh consecutive year, McNeese State University has received national recognition as one of the best regional universities and one of the top public universities by U.S. News and World Report, widely considered to be the foremost authority on college rankings.

9/29/2017 McNeese Sees Fall Enrollment Increase

Enrollment at McNeese State University this fall is in the black for the first time in seven years.
