5/15/2018 McNeese Summer Middle School and High School Band Academies Set

McNeese State University Bands will be hosting both a middle school band academy and a high school band academy this summer. The high school band academy will be held June 17-21, while the middle school band academy will be held June 24-28.

5/15/2018 McNeese Summer Session Fee Deadline Set

Students who have registered online for McNeese State University’s 2018 summer classes have until 4:30 p.m. June 6 to pay fees. Regular summer registration ends June 4 and classes begin June 11.

5/12/2018 The Late Billy Navarre Receives Posthumous Honorary Doctorate at McNeese Spring Commencement

McNeese State University conferred a posthumous honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree on Billy Navarre, a prominent Lake Charles business owner, philanthropist, outstanding civic leader, community volunteer and a supporter of McNeese, during the 150th commencement ceremony Saturday, May 12, at Burton Coliseum.

 McNeese State University’s chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society has recently inducted 21 students into the society.
5/8/2018 McNeese Beta Gamma Sigma Initiates and Student Awards for College of Business
 Joseph Provenzano, a double major in accounting and finance, received the 2018 Jeff and Rhonda Lee Miller Distinguished Senior in the College of Business Award at the recent Beta Gamma Sigma induction and awards ceremony at McNeese State University.

5/8/2018 McNeese Students Inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing

The Kappa Psi Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing at McNeese State University recently held its induction and installation ceremony.

5/7/2018 McNeese ABA Graduate Program One of Only 20 Nationally Accredited

McNeese State University’s psychology graduate program in applied behavior analysis is the only one in Louisiana accredited by the Association for Behavior Analysis International and one of only 20 accredited programs in the nation, according to Dr. Cameron Melville, coordinator of the psychology graduate program at McNeese.

5/4/2018 McNeese Grad Pursues MFA in Italy

When McNeese State University graduate Lindsey Johnson moved to Florence, Italy, two years ago to work on a Master of Fine Arts from the Studio Arts College International (SACI), she expected that her days would be spent sipping cappuccinos, riding Vespas (Italian mopeds) with beautiful Italian men and drinking fine wine while leisurely painting the Tuscan countryside.

 The McNeese State University Summer Reading Clinic will be offered June 4-28 for students entering 2-6.

Six McNeese State University visual arts students are being recognized for their hard work and support as interns at the Imperial Calcasieu Museum with an exhibit, "Budding Talents,” from May 3 – June 8 in the Gibson-Barham Gallery.

4/24/2018 McNeese Greek Life Donates to Louisiana Lions Camp
 McNeese State University’s Greek Life has donated $9,200 to the Louisiana Lions Camp near Leesville. During Greek Week on campus, the 14 Greek fraternities and sororities battled it out during a weeklong competition of Change Wars to raise money for the camp.

McNeese State University Leisure Learning is offering "A STEAM Adventure” summer program as part of its Kids College from May 28-Aug. 10 for children entering grades 1­-8.

  Heather Ryan Kelley, a McNeese art professor, has had a print titled "Tabula Rasa” included as a part of two national juried exhibitions - The Boston Printmakers North American Print Biennial at the Lunder Arts Center at Lesley University College of Arts and Design in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and the 2018 Delta National Exhibition at the Bradbury Art Museum at Arkansas State University.
4/23/2018 McNeese Names 2018-2019 Honors College Recipients

Twenty-eight students have been selected for the McNeese State University Honors College for the 2018-2019 academic year, according to Dr. Scott Goins, honors college director.

 Six orientation sessions are offered this summer for incoming freshmen for the 2018 summer session or fall semester at McNeese State University.

McNeese State University student Haden Cooley, of Welsh, has been recognized as the McNeese 2018 Janet Delaine Student Employee of the Year. Cooley works in the Recreational Sports Complex.

3/20/2018 McNeese Dietetics Program and Internship Accreditation Continues

The Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics announced that accreditation for McNeese State University’s Didactic Program in Dietetics and its Dietetic Internship has been extended through June 2019. Both programs are offered through the Harold and Pearl Dripps School of Agricultural Sciences.

3/19/2018 Dr. Mitchell Adrian Selected McNeese Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and Enrollment Management
 Dr. Mitchell Adrian has been selected to serve as provost and vice president for academic affairs and enrollment management at McNeese State University. Adrian has been serving in the interim role since August 2017. His appointment is pending approval by the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors.

3/16/2018 McNeese Students Develop Involve U App for College Students
  Involve U is a new smartphone app, developed by McNeese State University students, that acts as a social media site specifically for campus events of student organizations at a single college campus. Team members behind Involve U are, from left, Taylor Venissat, Aaron Meyers and Garrett Benoit.
3/2/2018 McNeese's Accreditation Reaffirmed by SACSCOC

The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) announced that accreditation for McNeese State University is reaffirmed for an additional 10 years following a comprehensive review of McNeese’s academic and administrative programs.

2/9/2018 Westlake Chemical Presents Donation for Student Study Center to McNeese College of Engineering and Computer Science

The McNeese State University College of Engineering and Computer Science has received a donation of $185,000 from Westlake Chemical to establish a study center for its students.

2/6/2018 The Pride of McNeese Marching Band Selected for Honor

McNeese State University’s Pride of McNeese Marching Band is one of six university marching bands selected for video performance at the 2018 College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA) Southern Division Conference Feb. 22-24 at the University of South Florida in Tampa.

 Catherine and David Robbins, of New Orleans, have donated a bass flute valued at over $8,000 to the McNeese State University W.A. and Dorothy Hanna Department of Performing Arts through the McNeese Foundation.
