 Kenneth Baskin, associate professor of art at McNeese, has had one of his ceramic pieces – Gear and Sprocket - featured in the October issue of Ceramics Monthly. This piece was selected to publicize his solo exhibit currently on display at McGuireWoods Gallery in the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton, Va.

 The McNeese State University Office of Financial Aid will present several free financial aid workshops in high schools throughout a seven-parish area in October and November for students and their parents and current McNeese students to explain financial aid application procedures.
9/29/2017 McNeese Interns Gain Valuable Experience

Several McNeese State University students in the Harold and Pearl Dripps School of Agricultural Sciences took advantage of internships this summer that provided real life training outside of the classroom. These internships included tagging wildlife in Cameron Parish and New Mexico, promoting Brahman cattle in Arkansas, Mississippi and Texas, packing eggs in Iowa, vaccinating pigs in North Carolina and working with horses in Ecuador.

McNeese State University’s 2016 nursing graduates have achieved a 97.2 percent first-time passage rate on the NCLEX-RN, the national licensure exam for nursing students.

The 2017 McNeese State University radiologic sciences graduates had a 100 percent passage rate on their first attempt on the national certification examination in radiography administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology.

For a second year, McNeese State University assistant professor of biology Dr. Amber Hale will sail aboard the 211-foot Exploration Vessel Nautilus Aug. 4-18 as it scours the coasts of Oregon and California in the name of scientific exploration.

 Lake Charles Mayor Nic Hunter meets with McNeese State University Upward Bound students prior to presentations during Advocacy Day. The McNeese program has been awarded a five-year federal grant totaling more than $1.6 million to continue serving potential first-generation college students.

7/14/2017 McNeese Student Team to do NASA Research During Total Solar Eclipse in August

On Monday, Aug. 21, skies across the country will darken with the first total solar eclipse viewable over the United States since 1979. A team of students from McNeese State University’s College of Engineering and Computer Science are headed to Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Ill., on that date to take part in a NASA-sponsored, real-time scientific study of solar eclipses.

6/2/2017 McNeese Nursing BSN Program Receives Continuing Accreditation

The McNeese State University College of Nursing and Health Professions’ baccalaureate nursing degree program has been granted continuing accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) following an extensive review process that culminated with a campus site visit last fall by CCNE evaluators, according to Dr. Peggy Wolfe, dean of the college.

5/24/2017 McNeese Spring Graduate Also Receives High School Diploma

McNeese State University’s spring commencement was held May 13, and one student, Joseph McKinney, 17, graduated with an associate degree in general studies with a 4.0. Incredibly, 11 days later (May 24), he receiveed his diploma as an honor graduate from Westlake High School.
