4/18/2018 McNeese SAGE Series Offers New Orleans Trip

The McNeese State University Leisure Learning program is hosting a two-day sightseeing trip to New Orleans April 18-19 as part of the spring SAGE series.

Jessica Dorman, director of publications, marketing and student education at The Historic New Orleans Collection, will present a lecture titled "Henry Howard, Louisiana’s Architect” at 3 p.m. Monday, April 9, in the McNeese State University SEED Center to close the 2018 spring Sage Series.

3/28/2018 Castro's daughter to speak at Banners at McNeese

Alina Fernandez, daughter of the late Cuban leader Fidel Castro, will present a reading from her book titled "Castro’s Daughter: An Exile’s Memoir of Cuba” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, in the Tritico Theatre as part of the 2018 Banners at McNeese State University season.

3/27/2018 McNeese Hosts Senior Recital

The McNeese State University W.A. and Dorothy Hanna Department of Performing Arts will present a free senior trumpet recital by Bryan Miller, of Orangefield, Texas, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, in Tritico Theatre of the Shearman Fine Arts Annex.

The McNeese State University W.A. and Dorothy Hanna Department of Performing Arts will present a free senior euphonium recital by Darren Hooper, of Lake Charles, at 7 p.m. Monday, March 26, at St. Luke-Simpson United Methodist Church.

3/23/2018 McNeese Participates in United Way VITA program

Tax season is underway and 24 McNeese State University finance and accounting students are working as interns or volunteers for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program through the United Way of Southwest Louisiana, offering free tax preparation assistance to qualifying students, faculty and members of the community.

3/21/2018 McNeese Theatre Presents Teenage Project

McNeese State University’s W.A. and Dorothy Hanna Department of Performing Arts will present the final theatre production of the season - The Teenage Project: Mythbusting Adolescence - March 21-25 in Tritico Theatre. Times are 7:30 p.m. March 21-24 and 2 p.m. March 25.

3/20/2018 McNeese Dietetics Program and Internship Accreditation Continues

The Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics announced that accreditation for McNeese State University’s Didactic Program in Dietetics and its Dietetic Internship has been extended through June 2019. Both programs are offered through the Harold and Pearl Dripps School of Agricultural Sciences.

3/19/2018 Dr. Mitchell Adrian Selected McNeese Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and Enrollment Management
 Dr. Mitchell Adrian has been selected to serve as provost and vice president for academic affairs and enrollment management at McNeese State University. Adrian has been serving in the interim role since August 2017. His appointment is pending approval by the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors.

3/16/2018 McNeese Students Develop Involve U App for College Students
 Involve U is a new smartphone app, developed by McNeese State University students, that acts as a social media site specifically for campus events of student organizations at a single college campus. Team members behind Involve U are, from left, Taylor Venissat, Aaron Meyers and Garrett Benoit.
3/7/2018 McNeese Rodeo Update

The McNeese State University rodeo team has completed two rodeo competitions this spring. The women’s rodeo team placed second and the men’s team placed fourth at the Trinity Valley Community College rodeo competition in Athens, Texas.

3/2/2018 McNeese's Accreditation Reaffirmed by SACSCOC

The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) announced that accreditation for McNeese State University is reaffirmed for an additional 10 years following a comprehensive review of McNeese’s academic and administrative programs.

2/9/2018 Westlake Chemical Presents Donation for Student Study Center to McNeese College of Engineering and Computer Science

The McNeese State University College of Engineering and Computer Science has received a donation of $185,000 from Westlake Chemical to establish a study center for its students.

2/6/2018 The Pride of McNeese Marching Band Selected for Honor

McNeese State University’s Pride of McNeese Marching Band is one of six university marching bands selected for video performance at the 2018 College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA) Southern Division Conference Feb. 22-24 at the University of South Florida in Tampa.

1/26/2018 McNeese Names New Banners Director

Brook Hanemann has been named the director of Banners at McNeese State University. This annual spring event that is known for its series of concerts, exhibits, lectures and educational programming that has provided Southwest Louisiana with 26 years of easy access to exceptional arts and humanities events unique to this area.

1/11/2018 McNeese Offers Prometric Testing on Campus

A Prometric Testing Center is now available in Southwest Louisiana through the Office of Testing Services at McNeese State University. The center - located in Suite 210C in the Burton Business Center – is open from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday by appointment.

1/3/2018 McNeese Team Wins First Place in Poster Competition

A team of students from McNeese State University’s College of Engineering and Computer Science took first place in the recent poster competition at the Annual High Altitude Conference at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities.

12/12/2017McNeese's First Graduate in Health Systems Management
 As family members watched Saturday morning, Lola Grichendler, of Lake Charles, was awarded the first health systems management degree by McNeese State University’s College of Nursing and Health Professions at the 149th commencement ceremony held in Burton Coliseum.
12/5/2017 McNeese BRIDGES Program Now Offered Year Round

The McNeese State University Autism Program will now offer its BRIDGES program year round. Enrollment is open for ages 13 and up for those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum.

McNeese State University has been designated a 2018 Military Friendly School for the third consecutive year by Victory Media, the leader in successfully connecting the military and civilian worlds and publisher of G.I. Jobs, STEM Jobs and Military Spouse.

11/10/2017McNeese Partners With Calcasieu Parish School Board and CITGO to Bring STEM Education Program to Elementary Students

McNeese State University has partnered with the Calcasieu Parish School System and CITGO to bring STEM education to over 900 elementary students in 23 participating elementary schools through a national program called Engineering is Elementary.

 Catherine and David Robbins, of New Orleans, have donated a bass flute valued at over $8,000 to the McNeese State University W.A. and Dorothy Hanna Department of Performing Arts through the McNeese Foundation.
