6/7/2017 McNeese Sets 2017 Summer Fee Deadline
 Students who have registered online for McNeese State University’s 2017 summer classes have until 4:30 p.m. June 7 to pay fees. Regular summer registration ends June 5 and classes begin June 12.

 A social media workshop for small businesses will be offered from 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, on the second floor of the SEED Center at McNeese State University.
5/24/2017 McNeese Spring Graduate Will Also Receive High School Diploma
 

McNeese State University’s spring commencement is this Saturday, May 13, and one student, Joseph McKinney, 17, will graduate with an associate degree in general studies with a 4.0. Incredibly, 11 days later (May 24), he’ll receive his diploma as an honor graduate from Westlake High School.

5/17/2017 McNeese Sends Four to College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyoming
 

Four McNeese State University rodeo team members have earned spots in the 69th College National Finals Rodeo scheduled June 11-17 in Casper, Wyo. Qualifiers are: Kelsey Brashear, Lake Charles, and Mia Manzanares, Opelousas, breakaway roping; Cole Frey, Morganza, team roping header; and Gabe Soileau, Bunkie, steer wrestling.

The McNeese Autism Program has designed a new program to "bridge a gap” between the increasing need for services for adolescents and young adults diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder that kicks off this summer on the McNeese State University campus.

March is Problem Gambling Awareness Month and this year’s theme is "Have the Conversation.” Since 2003, the McNeese State University Gambling Treatment Program has reached out to educate the general public about the warning signs of problem gambling and to raise awareness about help availablelocally through radio, TV and billboards.

An exhibition on Louisiana second wave feminists based on the work of two McNeese State University professors is currently on display in New Orleans at the Newcomb College Institute of Tulane University through May 31.

The McNeese State University men’s rodeo team placed first while the women’s team tied for sixth place at the recent Texas A&M University Rodeo March 17-18.

McNeese State University Professor of English Dr. Keagan LeJeune has won the Louisiana Library Association’s 2017 Louisiana Literary Award for his book, "Legendary Louisiana Outlaws: The Villains and Heroes of Folk Justice.”

McNeese State University President Dr. Philip Williams announced that he will retire on June 30, 2017. Williams has served as president since July 1, 2010.

In a grand ceremony, McNeese State University’s Pride of McNeese Marching Band received a prestigious invitation on Friday to the 2018 London New Year’s Day Parade and Festival "across the pond.”

 For the sixth consecutive year, McNeese State University has received national recognition as one of the best regional universities and one of the top public universities in the South by U.S. News and World Report, widely considered to be the foremost authority on college rankings.
