The Lake Charles Messiah Chorus and Orchestra has donated $15,000 to the McNeese State University Foundation to establish the Francis G. and Patricia C. Bulber Music Scholarship. The first Messiah was conducted in 1940 by Dr. Francis G. Bulber. Dr. Bulber joined McNeese faculty in 1940 and retired as Dean of the School of Fine Arts in 1974. His daughter, Collette Bulber Tanner, is the current director. His wife, Patricia, is also a retired McNeese music faculty member and a professor emeritus recipient.
