Bulber Music Scholarship Established at McNeese

The Lake Charles Messiah Chorus and Orchestra has donated $15,000 to the McNeese State University Foundation to establish the Francis G. and Patricia C. Bulber Music Scholarship. The first Messiah was conducted in 1940 by Dr. Francis G. Bulber. Dr. Bulber joined McNeese faculty in 1940 and retired as Dean of the School of Fine Arts in 1974. His daughter, Collette Bulber Tanner, is the current director. His wife, Patricia, is also a retired McNeese music faculty member and a professor emeritus recipient. On hand for the presentation are from left Collette Bulber Tanner, Aaron Tanner, grandson of the Bulbers, Patricia Bulber and Richard H. Reid, vice president for university advancement and executive vice president for the McNeese Foundation. McNeese Photo
