McNeese State University dean of student affairs, Dr. Kedrick Nicholas, was awarded the Dan Seymour Award for Outstanding Commitment to Student Affairs at the 48th annual Louisiana Association of College and University Student Personnel Administrators (LACUSPA) Conference in Baton Rouge.
The LACUSPA Conference presents several awards to recognize individuals throughout the state with extraordinary achievement and high quality of work.
The Dan Seymour Award is awarded to current professionals with at least five years of continuous LACUSPA membership who have made outstanding or exceptional contributions to Student Affairs.
“I greatly appreciate receiving the Dan Seymour Award. When I look at the list of student affairs practitioners who received the award before me, it’s an honor to be among them,” Nicholas said. “LACUSPA has been a key in-state professional development association for me since the start of my career. The contributions I’ve made to the association do not outweigh what it has done for me.”
“He is truly phenomenal and an outstanding asset to our organization, state and McNeese,” said Ruben Henderson, LACUSPA outgoing president.
Dr. Nicholas is the current dean of student affairs and Title IX administrator at McNeese. He served as the president of the LACUSPA and has most recently served in the role of immediate past president. Nicholas is also a past recipient of the LACUSPA Mid-Manager of the Year Award.
